102 Reasons to Like 2007
It's the end of another year and I could recap it in many different ways... but what could be more important and useful than a review of the year in music? Personally, I lost the 2 bands I was playing in, so I had a big void to fill musically. And in typical fashion, I went a little overboard. But I also upgraded my mp3 player to a 30gig Zune, so can you blame me for needing to fill it up?
The list below consists of all albums released in 2007 that I possess in their entirety. I attempted to order them as best I could by my preferences and how often I play them. There's some great stuff that didn't make it to the top of the list because I just never remember to play it... which I guess says something about the album anyway. And I'm not counting down to my favorites... because who wants to sift through 30 or 40 crappy albums to get to the good stuff? This way, you can just start at the top and work your way down... buying albums based solely on my recommendation -- because really, that's all you need.
And obviously, I love talking about these albums. So feel free to share your opinions... Is Radiohead overrated? (no) Why is Arcade Fire at #31? (overrated) Who the heck is Bon Iver? (Wisconsin native - seriously, go buy it now) Why so much R&B? (shut up you racist, it's good stuff) Why do you waste so much time with all this music? (you don't know me at all)
So what was your top 10 or favorite? What was a total disappointment? What am I missing? You need an opinion on this... it's the most important topic I know. Please validate your existence.
